How to Change your Password in cPanel

A password is a secret word that is used as a means of confirming or authenticating the identity of an individual who is trying to access a particular website or online account. It is used in many different sites for security reasons and to protect themselves from possible threats. The general rule is that a password should not be shared to people you do not know in order to prevent them from gaining access to your website. It is also recommended by experts for people to change their passwords ever so often to avoid detection.

Below are the steps on how to change your password in cPanel:

1. Log in to cPanel.

2. Start to change the password by clicking the Change Password icon in the Reference section of the cPanel interface. (By changing the password, your cPanel, PTF and FrontPage password will also be changed.)

3. Enter your old password in the Old Password option.

4. Then enter a new password in the blanked box.

5. Repeat your new password at the blanked box below the New Password option.

6. Now, click the change Password button.

7. You will see a confirmation that you successfully change your password for cPanel, FTP and FrontPage. Then click the Go Back link.

8. After changing the password, login again to cPanel before continue to navigate in the cPanel.

9. Enter your username and new password.

10. Then click the OK button.

11. You successfully logged back to cPanel. Remember to choose a password that you can easily remember. Protect and secure your password. Don’t share it to other people.

12. Click the Home button to return to the home page. You now know how to change your password in cPanel. You can follow the steps once more if you wish to change your password again. Take note that your password protection will be assured if you frequently change your password.

13. Don’t forget to log out of cPanel when you’re finished for security purposes.
