Virtuozzo is a server virtualization software that creates a stand-alone virtual private server (VPS). It partitions a Windows or Linux server into virtual environments or multiple execution environments. This software created by SWSoft allows the administrator to run a single operating system (OS) as its main core and distribute the cores function to the partitions of Windows or Linux. Unlike other virtual machine model where VPS are run from a single CPU and has to run on multiple OS at the same time, Virtuozzo only uses one CPU and one OS. Because of this, each VPS or stand-alone entity can be independently rebooted.
