Accessing your computer or server from a remote desktop is very convenient and can be very useful if you know how to do it. After learning this, you can send commands to your VPS anywhere you are.
This tutorial will show you to how to connect to your Virtual Private Server (VPS) using remote desktop:
1. Login to your Virtuozzo Power Panel.
2. On the left side of the page, you will find the VPS Services menu, under that is the link that says “Remote Desktop.” Click on this link.
3. You may now connect to your VPS through the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). However, this feature is only available to you if you are using Internet Explorer 5.0 or above. If you are, click on the “Login” button.
4. You will then be directed to a log on screen where you can enter your RDP username and password.
5. Enter your username and password on the spaces provided for them.
6. Click on the “OK” button once you have entered your information.
7. A remote desktop window opens once you have logged in. You may then send commands to your VPS using remote desktop.
8. To log out of remote desktop, scroll down to the bottom of the remote screen.
9. Click on the “Start” button at the lower left of the screen and a menu will appear. Click on the “Log Off” button at the bottom of this menu.
10. You will be asked if you are sure you want to log off. Click on the “Log Off” button to confirm that you do.
11. You are then logged out of remote desktop, returning to your Virtuozzo Power Panel view.
12. To return to the main screen, click on the “Top” link at the top of the page.
