How to Connect Your VPS Using SSH

This tutorial will show you how to connect to your Virtual Private Server (VPS) using Secure Shell (SSH). If you know how to do this, you can use standard Linux command line tools in your VPS. Just make sure that your VPS is properly running and you are logging into your VZPP with Internet Explorer 5.0 or above.

How to Connect to Your VPS Using SSH

1. Login to your Virtuozzo Power Panel (VZPP).

2. Go to the VPS Services menu on the left of the screen. Click on the “SSH Connection” link under it.

3. You will be directed to an SSH Client page, from where you can remotely connect to your VPS. You can work inside its directory tree using standard Linux command line tools.

4. Before trying to connect to your VPS using SSH, you have to be sure that you are using Internet Explorer 5.0 or above to launch your VZPP. You also have to make sure that your VPS is running.

5. In the SSH Client page, you need to input your VPS username and password in the Login and Password boxes respectively.

6. After providing the needed information, click on the “Login” button.

7. An SSS Client window then opens. From here, you can use Linux command tools in your VPS.

8. When you are done with SSH, just type in “logout” and press Enter.

9. A prompt will tell you that your connection has been terminated. If you want to reconnect, click on the “OK” button. If not, click on the “Cancel” button to confirm that you want to leave SSH.

10. The SSH window closes, and you are now successfully logged out of SSH.

11. Return to the main screen by clicking on the “Top” link.
