The POP or the Post Office Protocol is simple protocol that is not hard to implement. It refers on how the email client should deal to the server. It includes simple functionality like retrieving mail from ISP and removes it on the server. The other one is retrieving mail from ISP, but not remove it on the server and others. The Post Office Protocol technology is used to make a communication control between the servers and an email client.
Below is the tutorial on how to create a POP e-mail account in cPanel. Just follow the steps carefully to easily learn it:
1. Log in to cPanel.
2. Click the Email Accounts icon in the Mail section of the cPanel interface.
3. You will notice that there is already a POP e-mail account listed in the Default E-mail Account section. It is the main Post Office Protocol account that every hosting account comes with.
4. To create a new POP account, enter a new e-mail address.
5. If you have more than one account, just choose the domain where you want to create your new POP e-mail account.
6. Enter a password for the new POP e-mail account in the box provided.
7. Re-enter the password below.
8. If you want to set a limit on this e-mail account, just put it in the box provided.
9. Then, click the Create button.
10. After that, you will be asked if you wish to configure to work with mail client, click the No button.
11. Your new POP mail account has been successfully created.
12. From the Current Accounts section, you can check the web mail, the quota, as well as the E-mail password.
13. In the same page, you can also configure a mail client and delete the e-mail account.
14. You can create as many POP e-mail accounts anytime you want. Just follow the steps provided here. However, the limit depends on the hosting plan.
15. Click the Home button located at the upper left corner of the page to return to the Home page.
16. Be sure to setup your new POP e-mail account in the e-mail program that you want such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora and others.
17. Don’t forget to click the Log out button at the upper right corner of the page when finished for security purposes.
