How to Create an Auto Responder in cPanel

It is nice to be able to reply to all e-mail messages while you are out in a vacation, enjoying what the world has to offer. This capability is important especially if you are planning to go out of town and you actually have concerns with e-mail messages from particular people. The cPanel’s Auto-Responder solves the potential problems for cases such as that by providing you with the capability to auto-respond to e-mail messages sent to you.

How to Create an Auto-Responder in cPanel

1. Login to cPanel.

2. Locate the Auto-Responders link in the Mail section and click it.

3. Click the Add Auto-Responder link.

4. This will then open a window where you can create your own Auto-Responder.

5. Click the textbox indicated with the label “E-mail: “.

6. Type in the e-mail address where you want to put the Auto-Responder. If you have multiple domains like add-ons and parked domains, be sure the select the appropriate one for your Auto-Responder. The combo box concerned here is just beside the textbox labeled as “E-mail”.

7. Click the textbox labeled with “From: “and enter the “from” details of your desire. You can also change the subject field by clicking on it and typing the desired changes. For the “Character set section”, it is most safe to put it at “us-ascii” under normal circumstances. By checking the checkbox labeled with “HTML Message:” The Auto-Responder will send back messages as HTML format.

8. Click the large text box labeled “Body:” and enter the content of the message.

9. Click the Modify/Create Button and the Auto-Responder is made.

10. Click the Go Back Link to go back to the Auto-Responder page and add/edit/delete auto-responders if desired.

11. Click the Home Button and it is the end of the tutorial in creating Auto-Responders.
