Customs buttons are helpful for those who have proprietary software and wish to provide their users access to it from within Helm. It is also used if the user wishes to provide other users links to web pages. A custom button can have several functions. It can direct the browser to a website. It can also direct the browser to a website and manage that website’s search engine, looking for the term the user has input into the toolbar search field. For instance, a Google button would go to google.com and look for the word the user have provided.

Below are the steps on how to create custom buttons in Helm. Just follow these steps to easily learn it:

1. Log in to the Helm control panel.

2. Now, you can start to create buttons by clicking the Account Settings icon in the control panel interface.

3. Scroll down and select the Custom Buttons icon.

4. Then, click the Add button.

5. Provide a label for the new button in the blank field provided.

6. In the next box provided, enter a link URL for the button.

7. You can optionally include a custom image for the new button and include the URL in the button image.

8. There are two ways by which you can show the links. First, it can be shown inside the helm and second, it can be shown to the customers.

9. Choose between the two. Select the show inside helm option if you want or you can choose the other one. You can also choose both options.

10. When ready, click the Save button.

11. Then, click the Home button located at the upper left corner of the page to return to the Home page.

12. You have successfully added the custom button that you created. It can be found on the main page of the control panel.

13. Click the link or custom button that you have created.

14. You can now see that the custom button really works. Click again the Home button to return to the Home page.
