The default documents list contains the filenames that you prefer browsers to search automatically when visiting your site. Once the browser discovers a default document list in your account, it will set this page as your default home page.
Follow the steps below to learn how to edit your default documents list in helm:
1. Login to your Helm control panel account as a reseller.
2. To start editing your default documents list, look for the “My Domains” icon and click it.
3. You will then be directed to your main Domains page where you can create and modify domains. Choose the domain name that you want to work on.
4. The “Edit Domain” page will appear shortly. Locate the “Website Settings” icon and click it.
5. Then at the upper right portion of the page, locate the “Default Docs” tab and click it.
6. In the “Default Docs” section, your current default documents will be listed. The first filename listed in this section will be the first page every visitor is forced to view whenever your home page is browsed. Your default page is usually the “Default.html.” If this page does not exist in your root directory, the browser will locate for the next file in the list and show it to visitors as your home page.
7. Change the default document as desired.
8. Then, click the “Save” icon if you are done making changes.
9. A notification showing that your web site settings for the selected domain have been successfully updated after you have finished editing your default documents list.
