By being able to publish your website directly from Microsoft FrontPage, you will be set free from the need to upload your web-related files through means of FTP (File Transfer Protocol) or any other uploading means possible. In cPanel, this is allowed through the installation of “FrontPage Extensions”.
This tutorial will teach you how to install and uninstall FrontPage Extensions in cPanel:
1. Login to cPanel.
2. Scroll down to locate the FrontPage Extensions Link/Icon.
3. Click on the FrontPage Extensions Icon.
4. FrontPage Extensions should be installed if and only if you used Microsoft FrontPage to create your website. If you did not use Microsoft FrontPage in creating your website, stop viewing this particular installation tutorial. Assume that we used FrontPage. It is indicated in the Status column that FrontPage Extensions are not installed. Click Install Extensions button.
5. FrontPage is installed, enabling us to publish our website to your account using FrontPage. Click the Go Back link.
6. FrontPage extensions are installed for your main domain but not for the subdomain. The extensions need to be installed separately by clicking the install extensions button for the subdomain. Let us uninstall the FrontPage extensions by clicking the Uninstall Extensions button.
7. Extensions are now removed for your account.
8. Click the Home Page button on the upper left corner.
9. End of Tutorial. You are now knowledgeable in installing and uninstalling FrontPage Extensions if you actually used FrontPage to design your website. You can reinstall the extensions anytime.
