Sometimes, certain processes can slow down the system or are using up too much of your resources. This will enable you to manage and control them.
This tutorial will show you how to effectively manage your System Processes in Power Panel:
1. Login to your Virtuozzo Power Panel.
2. To manage your System Processes, go to the Virtual Private Server (VPS) Services menu on the left side of the page. Click on the “System Processes” link.
3. You will then be directed to the Systems Processes page. Here, you can manage the processes that are running in your VPS. Scroll down to see the rest of the list.
4. This list will show you all the processes that are currently running in your VPS. You will also be able to see how much of your server resources are being used.
5. If you notice that something seems to be out of control, going to this page will enable you to shut down that specific process. To do this, select the process by clicking on the box next to it.
6. Then, select the “SIGKILL” command from the drop down box above the list.
7. This command then immediately terminates the process you selected.
8. Then, click on the “Send Signal” button which is next to the box where you clicked SIGKILL.
9. Scroll up and click on the “Top” link to return to the main screen.
10. You now know how to manage the system processes that are running in your VPS. Be reminded to take the extra precaution before sending signals to any processes. Make sure that you only do so when absolutely necessary to avoid any problems or loss of data.
