This tutorial will show you how to start, stop, or reboot your Virtual Private Server (VPS) in Power Panel in six simple steps.
1. Login to your Virtuozzo Power Panel.
2. Once you are logged in, you will notice a note at the top of the screen that your VPS is running at the moment. To stop it, go to the VPS Management menu on the left side of the page. Click on the “Start/Stop VPS” link.
3. You will then be directed to a screen with three buttons: Start VPS, Restart VPS, and Stop VPS. Since your VPS is currently running, you only have the options to restart or reboot it, or stop it. However, your VPS can be in other states on other times. If it is Down, you only have the Start VPS button as an option. But if it is repairing, mounting, starting, or stopping, you cannot click on any of the buttons until it has moved on to another state.
4. Because your VPS is running at the moment, try restarting it by clicking on the Restart VPS button. Once you do, the VPS stops, and will restart after a while.
5. If you want to stop your VPS, click on the Stop VPS button instead of the Restart VPS button. Keep in mind though, that there is a two-minute timeout before the shutdown is executed. In the event that it does not stop after two minutes, the system will force quit all processes running, even if it means seriously damaging the VPS.
6. Click on the Top link to return to the main screen. You now know how to start, stop, or reboot your VPS in Power Panel.
