The Disk usage viewer of cPanel enables the user to see where the files are in the site that is taking up disk space. The disk usage viewer can be used to see all the files in the site and find out how much space each file occupies. This viewer will also provide the quantity of bandwidth being used on the website. This pertains to the amount of files being transferred. Disk space and bandwidth are directly associated to each other. An inadequate number of one of these two can have a strong effect on the performance of the website. To know the steps on how to use disk usage viewer in cPanel, follow the instructions below.
1. Log in to cPanel.
2. Scroll down then click the Disk Space Usage icon in the Files section of the cPanel interface.
3. You will see the Disk usage summary of the directory and sub directory of your account.
4. Scroll down to see all the list of directories.
5. At the upper right corner of the list of directories, click the arrow down button beside the “Actions…” option to see all the list of available actions.
6. Then from the list, select the Show File Sizes as bytes option to see more details.
7. You will see that the file sizes of the directories have been converted to megabytes from bytes.
8. There are two Depth options that you can see at the upper left corner of the list of directories. These are the Decrease depth and Increase depth.
9. Select the Increase depth option.
10. Then click the Decrease depth button.
11. From the “Actions…” section again, select the Show Top Level option.
12. After that, click the Increase Depth button again.
13. These are ways on how to view the amount of storage space that is used by the directories.
14. You can also see which directory uses the most storage space in your account.
15. Click the Home button located at the upper left corner of the page to go back to the Home page. You know now how to use disk usage viewer in cPanel.
